Position Overview

Qualifications Required

Applicants must possess a Higher National Diploma and 3 post-qualification experience or a degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Electronics Engineering with 12 months’ post-qualification experience. He/she must have good communication skills and leadership qualities. The incumbent will be responsible to the User Support and Training Manager.

Skills & Competencies

First-line technical support and troubleshooting skills Software installation, configuration, and updating Basic hardware troubleshooting and routine system maintenance Ability to support and operate multimedia equipment such as projectors, smart boards, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems Knowledge of data protection principles and ICT best practices Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to assist and train staff and students with varying levels of ICT knowledge Strong customer service orientation good problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to document technical issues and resolutions accurately Ability to escalate complex technical issues appropriately

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support to academic and administrative staff, as well as students. Diagnose and resolve software-related issues, including installation, configuration, and usage problems. Escalate complex issues to relevant IT teams when necessary. Install, configure, and update software applications on university computers Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure software reliability and security. Conduct training sessions or create user guides to help staff and students effectively use university software. Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, resolutions, and system changes. Support the planning and delivery of training sessions on data protection policies and best practices. Provide technical support for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of multimedia equipment such as projectors, smart boards, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
