Qualifications Required
Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture/Science Technology/Biological Sciences or equivalent and three years’ post-qualification experience; or a Degree in Agriculture /Animal Science/Health/Crop Science/Biotechnology/Botany/Agronomy or equivalent and one-year post-qualification experience.For appointment to the Senior Technician grade, applicants must have a BSc (Honours) Degree in Animal Science/Health/Crop Science/Biotechnology/Botany/Agronomy, or equivalent and at least three years’ post-qualification experience.
Skills & Competencies
Applicants must have knowledge on the following analytical techniques; microbiology, molecular and cell biology techniques. Hands-on expertise in plant and animal breeding techniques will be an added advantage. Successful applicants must be able to prepare, demonstrate and supervise practicals for students, and to carry out indoor and outdoor agricultural activities for research.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to supervise laboratory activities, prepare equipment or chemicals for practicals and research work, calibrate and standardize equipment or apparatus, manage inventory and procurement of consumables and equipment.
