Qualifications Required
Applicants must have at least an MSc/MEng Degree in Agricultural Engineering /Mechanical
Engineering/Irrigation Engineering/Civil and Water Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering
or equivalent. A PhD qualification in the respective area would be an added advantage. The
applicant must have a BEng/BSc/BTech Honours Degree in one of the following fields:
Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural Equipment Design/Civil and Water Engineering/
Irrigation Engineering with specialisation in Engineering Design Principles/ Irrigation
Engineering and should have research interests in those areas.
Skills & Competencies
The successful candidate will
be expected to teach the following courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level:
Engineering Design Principles, Soil Mechanics Strength of Materials, and Agricultural
Tractors and Automotive Engines. The candidate is expected to contribute to the supervision
of student research. He/she must also design and develop experiments and lead research in
the areas of specialisation. Membership of a professional body such as the Zimbabwe
Institution of Engineers is an added advantage.
