CAMPUS SERVICES MANAGER (1 POST)

Position Overview

The Campus Services Manager is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the hygiene standards of the University (both within and outside buildings) to guarantee a quality, friendly and comprehensive teaching and learning environment; ensure effective landscaping and ground maintenance, and good management of staff accommodation services and the reprographic centre. Reporting to the Registrar, the incumbent is expected to provide strategic leadership and effective management of the Section through the implementation of governance systems and performance-based management.

Qualifications Required

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Commercials plus a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences; or Master in Business Management or Master in Business Administration; or equivalent and at least five (5) years’ experience in managerial position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulating policies, procedures and guidelines to be used in the respective sections of the department to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Management of University wide cleaning and hygienic services
  • Management of University’s grounds and co-ordination of operations of the Campus Services functions.
  • Managing all materials and stocks required to undertake appropriate cleaning and maintenance and keeping an asset list of all equipment used by the team together with a replacement schedule.
  • Overseeing of University staff accommodation services.
  • Preparation and arrangement of venues for University functions and examinations.
  • Hiring out of facilities and assisting in the planning and hosting of special events.
  • Ensuring that the Section adheres to all relevant Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation and implementing work practices that minimize risk to staff, students and other stakeholders.
  • Participating in various meetings, Committees, task forces, and/or other related groups to communicate required information.
