Position Overview

- Operates imaging equipment such as X-ray machine, MRI scanner, Ultra sound and CT scanner - Prepares patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions they may have - Positions patients correctly to obtain the necessary images while ensuring their comfort and safety - Maintains and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure optimal operation and image quality - Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to further patient management - Optimises radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and healthcare staff - Processes and manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality - Administers contrast agents to patients when necessary for certain imaging procedures - Performs, in collaboration with a medical physicist, routine quality assurance and control checks on imaging equipment - Assists in the development and implementation of imaging policies and procedures - Stays updated on advances in radiologic technology practices through continuing education and training

Qualifications Required

- Bachelor's Degree in Radiography or Radiologic Technology from a recognised institution. - Registration with the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ). - Valid Annual Practising Certificate issued by the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ). - Proficiency in Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). - Cannulation competency certificate

- Experience with advanced imaging techniques - Strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology - Excellent patient care and communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment - Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team - Knowledge of radiation safety standards and protocols - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care - Ability to follow precise instructions and medical protocols - Physical stamina to perform tasks that require prolonged standing and lifting - Good organizational skills to manage patient records and documentation
